Public is Invited to the July 4th Festivities at UA Parking Garages

The public is invited to watch Tucson fireworks celebrations on July 4th from atop one of the UA's parking garages.

Once again, the public is invited to watch Independence Day fireworks celebrations in Tucson from atop any of five University of Arizona parking garages.

Garages will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. They include the Sixth Street, Tyndall Avenue, Main Gate, Park Avenue and Highland Avenue garages. Garage locations may be found on the UA Parking and Transportation Web site.

There is no charge to park during the event.

The top of each garage will be blocked to vehicles, allowing spectators to set up lawn chairs to view the fireworks. Parking will be allowed on all other levels.

Visitors are encouraged to bring plenty of drinking water. No alcohol, barbecues, cooking, fires, glass containers or sitting on walls will be allowed.

Portable restroom facilities will be set up in the 6th Street, Highland Avenue and Main Gate garages.

The 4th of July viewing event is hosted by UA Parking & Transportation Services.
